On 13 March 2026, World Vision Foundation of Thailand,<\/strong> in collaboration with HSBC Thailand,<\/strong> handed over an electrocardiogram (ECG) machine<\/strong> to Hatyai Hospital, Songkhla Province. The donation aims to strengthen the hospital\u2019s capacity to provide medical care and enhance the readiness of the local public health system. This initiative is part of the organisations\u2019 commitment to support and restore flood-affected areas in the South following the severe flooding that struck in late 2025. The donation was made possible through HSBC Thailand\u2019s contribution of 3.35 million baht to World Vision Foundation of Thailand.<\/p>

\u201cAs the first commercial bank in Thailand, supporting the Thai economy and its people for more than 137 years, HSBC places utmost importance on standing by the Thai people, especially during times of crisis. Whenever natural disasters disrupt people\u2019s lives and livelihoods, we are determined to support efforts that help affected communities overcome hardship and return to normalcy as quickly as possible.<\/em><\/p>

In 2024, we provided emergency assistance to more than 1,850 flood-affected families in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Following the major floods in the South last year, HSBC Thailand donated 3,350,000 baht through World Vision Foundation of Thailand to support affected people and communities in Songkhla, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Narathiwat.<\/em><\/p>

In particular, in Songkhla Province, we recognised the urgent needs arising from the large number of affected people. The donation of the ECG machine to Hatyai Hospital is a tangible contribution to strengthening medical services in the Hat Yai and Sathing Phra districts.<\/em><\/p>

Finally, HSBC Thailand extends our heartfelt support to the people of Hat Yai, Sathing Phra, and all communities in the South. We hope our assistance will serve as one of the key mechanisms enabling families to rebuild and return to their normal lives.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

The handover of the ECG machine to Hatyai Hospital is part of the Southern Post-Floods Recovery 2025 Project,<\/strong> implemented by World Vision Foundation of Thailand with the collaboration of supporters, communities, schools, local administrative organisations, and government agencies in Songkhla, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Narathiwat.<\/p>

The project focuses on supporting households affected by the floods. As of late January 2026, World Vision Foundation of Thailand had already distributed relief items to more than 1,700 households, reaching over 6,800 people, including over 3,400 children.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\u201cCommunities are becoming increasingly more vulnerable as disasters grow more frequent and severe each year. The recent flooding in several provinces in both the North and the South clearly reflects this reality.<\/em><\/p>

During our field visits, many community members shared that they had never anticipated such extensive damage, leaving them unprepared and severely affected. In the emergency response phase, World Vision Foundation of Thailand conducted rapid needs assessments and provided emergency support, including food, drinking water, and essential items for displaced families in evacuation centres.<\/em><\/p>

During the recovery phase, we worked with HSBC Thailand to restore schools and communities and provide essential equipment to hospitals, which is vital for people\u2019s well-being and access to medical services.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

HSBC Thailand has also provided ongoing support to Songkhla Province across completed and ongoing initiatives. These include donating two ventilators<\/strong> to Songklanagarind Hospital; restoring 16 flood-affected schools and childcare centres<\/strong> in Hat Yai and Sathing Phra districts; and repairing homes and providing emergency supplies <\/strong>for affected families.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
