Ban Pa Mai Sahakon School is located in Lam Nang Rong Sub-district, Non Din Daeng District, Buriram province. Currently, this opportunity expansion school admits 223 students from KG2-M3 levels, supported by 17 educational personnel. The school serves as the education hub for 5 nearby villages.
Current Condition:
The kitchen building, constructed in 2008 beside a water pond, is at risk of collapsing at any time. Due to ongoing water erosion which causes soil subsidence, the building foundation tilted, and visible cracks have appeared in the walls, while the wooden structure is inadequate to withstand the tilting of the foundation. This substandard condition poses potential harm to the cooks who use the building to cook meals for the children every day, endangering their well-being and the hygiene standards for meal preparation.
The Needs and Proposed Solutions:
Due to the deterioration and soil subsidence issues mentioned above, the school seeks the support to rebuild a new kitchen and renovate the open hall next to it to improve hygiene standards, ensure better health, safety, and reduce potential hazards for the children. The details are as follows:
- Demolish the structure of the old kitchen.
- Construct a new kitchen by filling the ground to level the floor, raising the roof to increase ventilation, installing wire mesh wall, door and windows, as well as wiring the electrical system.
- Renew the necessary kitchen equipment by purchasing rice cookers, gas stoves, spoons, and lunch trays.
Planned Area of Construction:
The open hall area, located next to the kitchen, is the designated area. If the new kitchen is constructed, then the structure of this open hall will be affected. This hall will be renovated, i.e., structure enhancement, roofing elevation. The renovation plan involves raising the roof structure higher with steel columns and installing wire mesh wall, door, and windows. The building size is 10*12*3 meters.
