Extend a Helping Hand to Flood-Affected Communities in Northern Thailand

Since mid-August 2024, monsoon-triggered heavy rains have devastated 12 provinces in Northern Thailand, causing flash floods and landslides. As of August 25, 2024, over 30,800 households have been impacted, with 22 lives lost and 19 injured.

While some floodwaters have begun to recede, the aftermath remains devastating—homes and infrastructure are in ruins, and thousands of families are left in urgent need of support. Your donation can provide essential supplies and assistance to those affected, enabling families to rebuild their homes and livelihood. Additionally, your contribution can also support long-term recovery efforts, including training and education initiatives to empower communities to better prepare for future disasters and mitigate potential damage.

World Vision Foundation of Thailand has developed a comprehensive plan to respond to the disaster in three ways:

Immediate Relief: Delivering critical supplies to families affected by flood. These include blankets, pillows, mosquito nets, mattresses, school uniforms, learning materials, and kitchen utensils to meet their immediate needs
Recovery: Supporting families in rebuilding their homes and restoring their livelihoods. This includes repairing or renovating damaged houses and providing agricultural equipment to help families regain stability and self-sufficiency.
Building Resilience: Empowering communities to prepare for and respond to future disasters. This involves disaster preparedness training, developing plans for heavy rainfall and other potential disasters, and providing essential equipment such as rain gauges and early warning systems. Additionally, we provide education and other proactive measures to strengthen community resilience against future crises.
