Pivotal gives bicycles to children living far away for better educational opportunity (Read in Thai)

Being a large-sized, multinational corporate does not make Pivotal overlook little things they can do for society, especially when it is about providing educational opportunity to children who live in remote areas. Recently, Mr Chua I-Pin, General Manager, South Asia - Pivotal, has represented the world’s leading software company and led more than 50 staff from Singapore during their conference Thailand to participate in the bicycle assembly event, part of World Vision Foundation of Thailand (WVFT)’s ‘Bikes for Kids Project’ to support Ratpattana Samakkee School, which is located in WVFT’s Pong Nam Ron Project, Chanthaburi. After the completion of the bicycle assembly, Mr Chua I-Pin, along with volunteers from Pivotal, and Mr Niran Limkitti, Public Engagement Group Department Manager, Marketing & Fundraising, WVFT, handed the 8 bicycles to Mr Jittiwat Sipha, the delegate of Director of Ratpattana Samakkee School. The bicycles will be used by pupils living far away as their transport to school.

Mr Chua I-Pin shared the rationale behind this event and said that it was a good opportunity for him and other Pivotal staff from Singapore to do something good for society.

‘We realise that what we’re doing has a direct impact. Smiles on children’s faces really uplift our spirit and make us feel happiest’.

Mr Jittiwat Sipha, the delegate of Director of Ratpattana Samakkee School, revealed how glad he felt for the children in this bicycle handover.

‘Many of our school’s pupils live far away. They are from poor families that have moved from other parts of the country. Their parents live on daily wages earned by working as hired hands in fruit orchards. They only make money on the days they are employed. The days without work means zero income. So, receiving bicycles is a big deal for these children. It is like a miracle to them. Above all, the support will greatly lessen parents’ burdens on children’s school transport fare. Thanks Pivotal and WVFT very much for seeing the importance of children’s education. I wish that such a good project continue forever because we don’t know if anyone will ever think about us as this project does in the future’.

In this event, the givers and receivers have not only assembled bicycles together but also shared a good time in recreational activities that brought about a great deal of laughter and smiles.
