Join us in reconstructing the basketball court and flood barrier to protect against flooding and flash floods
It is organized as part of the effort to assist Rutrajwittaya School, which is located in a remote area on a high mountain and has been severely affected by landslides and flash floods, causing significant damage on September 10, 2024.
You will travel to the affected areas to learn about the real situation on the ground and the hardships faced by the major floods.
Rutrajwittaya School has been significantly affected by this major event, impacting the education of over 533 students and teachers. They are lacking facilities for teaching and learning, as all classrooms, school fences, the cafeteria, the basketball court, teacher housing, and teaching equipment and materials have been damaged.
The basketball court, which students use for sports, lining up, and other activities, is in an unusable condition and needs to be urgently rebuilt. The prolonged flooding has eroded the soil underneath the court, causing the concrete surface to settle and crack, making it unsafe for use. Additionally, the back of the school, which is adjacent to the river, lacks a strong flood barrier, leading to bank erosion and further damage to the school.
“World Vision Foundation of Thailand invites you to donate to support the construction of a basketball court and a flood barrier.
You are also invited to join this Vision trip to encourage and uplift the teachers and students of Rutrajwittaya School in the “A mission to restore educational facilities and inspire hope to children in Chiang Rai”.
