Mr Weerachai Mukhagung, Cluster Manager (responsible for area programmes in Sangkha and Kap Choeng of Surin province; and Lahan Sai and Non Din Daeng of Buriram province), has represented World Vision Foundation of Thailand (WVFT) in the certificate presentation ceremony for “a philanthropist contributing to Satriwitthaya Association School,” awarded by Privy Councilor Air Chief Marshal Chom Rungsawang during his field trip to visit 9 areas in Buriram and Surin provinces participating in the education fund scheme. The event has recently been held at the auditorium of the Satriwitthaya Association School, Sangkhla district, Surin province.
WVFT’s Sangkha Area Programme, Surin province has been carried out for the improvement of the well-being of vulnerable children, families and communities living along this Thailand-Cambodia border since 2010. Today more than 1,700 children from impoverished families have been supported by sponsors and WVFT through Child Sponsorship Programme, which ensures their age-appropriate development and facilitates the families to secure occupation and income to sufficiently provide for household members.
In addition, to promote quality education for the children, #WVFT has also supported 17 educational institutes and 12 child care centres in Sangkha district, Surin province to have preparedness in teachers’ capacity building, instructional materials, and students’ educational necessity support. This is to guarantee schools’ readiness to cultivate seeds of knowledge among all children with equity. Satriwitthaya Association School is one of the schools which have been supported by WVFT.
