Amid the simple setting of a rubber plantation in Bueng Khong Long District, Bueng Kan Province, ‘Tete’ also known as Watchaphon grows up surrounded by the love and warmth of his family, living with his father, mother, and older sister in a small house surrounded by rubber trees.
His family earns a living as rubber tappers to support the household, and also raises chickens and ducks for home consumption. Although life is not very comfortable, the home is always filled with love, care, and mutual support.
Tete is a cheerful, happy boy who always wears a bright smile. He has a clear dream of growing up to be a police officer to protect people and keep society safe. A child’s small dream today is an inspiration that reflects his determination to become a vital strength for his community in the future.
Besides studying hard, Tete also helps lighten his family’s load with small chores suited to his age, such as filling water bottles, feeding the ducks and chickens, and collecting chicken eggs each day. These tasks help shape him, teaching responsibility, diligence, and the value of helping others from an early age.
Tete’s story reflects the many other children in remote areas who have potential and dreams but still need continuous opportunities to develop. That is why World Vision Foundation of Thailand works alongside children, families, and communities to create opportunities for access to education, life-skills development, and environments conducive to well-rounded growth, through a holistic child and community development approach focused on sustainable change.

This partnership not only supports the education and quality of life of one child, but is also part of building a better future for his family and the surrounding community.
