World Vision Thailand Partners with PCS Foundation to Improve Quality of Life in Remote Areas

Handover of Ban Tha Kham Sut Community Healthcare Service Center to Support Access to Basic Healthcare Services and Enhance Quality of Life in Kanchanaburi Province

On June 24, 2025, World Vision Foundation of Thailand, in collaboration with PCS Foundation for Social Development in Thailand, held a handover ceremony for Ban Tha Kham Sut Community Healthcare Service Center in Ban Tha Kham Sut Community, Si Mongkhon Sub-district, Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province, to support access to basic healthcare services and promoting the quality of life for people in this remote area.

The event was honoured by the presence of Ms Heather Mary Suksem, Vice Chairperson of OCS ROH Co, Ltd, and Mr Alvin Liew Voon Siong, Chief Financial Officer of PCS Co, Ltd, along with Mr Thanatat Chamket, Chief Executive of Si Mongkhon Sub-district Administrative Organisation, Mr Phumiwat Tosap, Director of Ban Thung Ruea Klon Sub-district Health-promoting Hospital, Dr Wimolrat Seesan, Regional Programme Implementation Manager – North & Central, Mr Yugijo Daud, Private Funding Division Manager, as well as government officials, World Vision Thailand staff, and distinguished guests who joined the ceremony in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

This healthcare service center was established to serve as a hub for community health promotion, focusing on providing basic healthcare services such as vaccinations, health check-ups, primary nursing care, consultations, and health education. It is also equipped to handle emergencies promptly and effectively.

Ban Tha Kham Sut is a remote village located more than 8 kilometres from Ban Thung Ruea Klon Sub-district Health-promoting Hospital. The establishment of this health facility will play a crucial role in reducing the travel burden for local people and increasing their access to essential healthcare services.

Previously, Ban Thung Ruea Klon Sub-district Health-promoting Hospital, the main healthcare provider for Si Mongkhon Sub-district, was responsible for over 8,000 people across 8 villages, making it difficult to meet all healthcare needs. The founding of Ban Tha Kham Sut Community Healthcare Service Center is therefore a key mechanism in sustainably supporting the local healthcare system.

This handover ceremony marks another significant step in the collaboration between civil society and the private sector to build a more equitable and sustainable society, while tangibly improving the quality of life for people in this remote area.
