Pfizer’s Bilateral Initiative Establishes Wellness Centre in Kaeng Krachan

The Pfizer Thailand Foundation joins hands with World Vision Foundation of Thailand and hands over a new wellness centre to a partner school in a development area in Phetchaburi Province, complete with exercise equipment and medical supplies.

It is often said that “good health is half the battle won.” But if one’s health is poor, does that mean the chance of success is reduced by more than half? The foundation of good health begins with physical activity. Yet in reality, access to exercise spaces for children and communities in remote areas remains a long-standing need. Supporting children to engage in appropriate physical activities not only reduces the risk of various illnesses but also helps instil lifelong healthy habits.

“We are well aware that physical wellbeing is a fundamental part of effective learning. Regular exercise helps students build strong bodies, maintain a positive mindset, reduce stress, and improve concentration,” said Wilaiwan Jorknew, Programme Manager, Phetchaburi-Ratchaburi. Behind her words lies a story of long-standing scarcity. Although the school already has a Pfizer First Aid Centre in operation, it is still insufficient for holistic healthcare—especially in terms of preventive health, which requires suitable and safe exercise equipment.“Ensuring good health is not limited to exercise alone but also involves being prepared for health emergencies that may arise. The medical supplies and equipment donated by the Pfizer Thailand Foundation today are just as vital,” added Wilaiwan.

Dr Nirutti Pradubyati, Vice President of the Pfizer Thailand Foundation and Country Medical Director at Pfizer Thailand, proudly stated: “It is a great honour and pleasure to be reunited with everyone today. Last year, we celebrated the opening of the Pfizer First Aid Centre together.” What took place today was not merely the handover of equipment, but the continuation of a shared vision between the Pfizer Thailand Foundation and World Vision Foundation of Thailand—one that is committed to fostering sustainable wellbeing for people in every corner of the country.

“Good health is not solely about treatment—it stems from prevention and the continuous empowerment of individuals to care for themselves. Exercise and access to suitable equipment are therefore key to building sustainable wellbeing.” Dr Pradubyati said with confidence.

Following the handover ceremony of a full set of exercise equipment, including stationary bikes, dumbbells, shoulder rotation wheels, and waist twisters, alongside first aid kits and CPR training mannequins, the school atmosphere transformed into one of joy and excitement when volunteers from the Pfizer Thailand Foundation joined students in painting and decorating the exercise area.

Laughter and friendly chatter echoed throughout the school grounds as children enthusiastically took part in games and prize giveaways. Most importantly, they gained valuable knowledge in basic first aid—skills that could one day save a life.

A heartfelt message of gratitude came from Ms Phuangchompoo Phannoi, or Teacher Oui, the school’s infirmary supervisor: “Previously, our school did not have any infirmary at all, and the old building was in poor condition. Thanks to Pfizer’s support, we now have a new facility that is much more convenient. The children are more engaged, and the community can also benefit from the services. I am deeply grateful to both World Vision Foundation of Thailand and the Pfizer Thailand Foundation for supporting us with education funds, the first aid building, and sports and exercise equipment. Teachers, students, and community members are proud and happy to enjoy better health,” Teacher Oui said with joy.

Phra Khru Wijak Watcharatham, Kaeng Krachan District Ecclesiastical Head and Chair of the Basic Education Committee, expressed his appreciation: “We will all work together to care for, make use of, and develop this wellness centre to reach its full potential.”

Dr Pradubyati concluded: “The collaboration we have seen today is truly inspiring and gives us confidence that this project will lay a strong foundation for sustainable health among students, teachers, and community members.”

This is the power of partnership, driven by the strong support of the Pfizer Thailand Foundation, which is committed to creating positive change and fostering environments that support good health for children and everyone in the community.
