Educational inequality remains a significant issue in Thailand. In 2024, only 13.49% or 22,345 children from low-income families continued their education at the tertiary level, which is three times lower than the national average (Equitable Education Fund).
Amid these challenges, the visionary executive of Jack Chia Industries (Thailand) Public Company Limited, who believes in the power of education, has partnered with World Vision Thailand to support the Bachelor’s Degree Programme for nine consecutive years. Recently, for the academic year 2024, he has supported education funds for 12 students in the fields of medicine and nursing. Mrs Rosalin Koware, National Director of World Vision Thailand, has received the funds on behalf of the awarded students.
Mr Vira Aroonvatanaporn, Executive Chairman, Jack Chia Industries (Thailand) Public Company Limited, shares about the programme: “World Vision Thailand demonstrates that this is a sustainable way to help children. It provides them with education and a better quality of life. Our country has many talented and capable children who still lack opportunities. Giving them the chance to pursue higher education will benefit them, enabling them to have careers, provide for their families, and contribute to society. As they achieve higher education, their quality of life will improve.
The Bachelor’s Degree Programme aims to support vulnerable adolescents in World Vision Thailand’s operational areas to access higher education. The goal is for them to have careers and improved quality of life. The project has been implemented since 2011. To date, over 450 graduates have completed their education and had the opportunity to work in their chosen professions.
