World Vision Foundation of Thailand, Together with the Community and Partners, Celebrates 27 Years of Success

Tham Wiang Kae Project, Nan Province toward sustainability

On 4 September 2025, World Vision Foundation of Thailand’s Tham Wiang Kae Project in Nan Province hosted a knowledge-sharing event to celebrate 27 years of community development success. The event also marked the handover of the development work to government agencies, partner organisations, and the local community to ensure continuity and sustainability.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr Pornpisanu Chansawat, District Chief of Song Khwae, Nan Province. The event was also joined by Mr Somyot Singkrat, Chair of the Tham Wiang Kae Project Management Committee, and Mrs Rosalin Kowae, National Director of World Vision Foundation of Thailand, along with executives, staff, partner organisations, and over 350 distinguished guests.

Mr Somyot Singkrat, the chair of the project committee, said: “Over the past 27 years, we, the people of Song Khwae, would like to thank sponsors and World Vision Foundation of Thailand for developing our community, bringing well-being to children, families, and the community. The success in education and career for children and livelihoods for families has all stemmed from collective support and collaboration.”

Mr Pornpisanu Chansawat, District Chief of Song Khwae, added: “What World Vision Foundation of Thailand has done is to enhance quality of life and strengthen the role of the government, especially in education, which is the heart of development. Thank you for supporting our community for more than 27 years. This success will serve as a foundation for continued sustainability.”

Over the past 27 years, Tham Wiang Kae Project has brought about transformation across multiple dimensions. These include the promotion of education, with many children and youths gaining access to higher education, enabling them to pursue careers and support their families. Life skills and livelihoods development have empowered families in the community to achieve stable livelihoods and income, with many households successfully expanding their ventures into sustainable primary occupations. Food security has also improved, with households able to manage their own food sources sufficiently and reliably. These outcomes are the result of collaboration between the community, government agencies, partner networks, and the support of World Vision Foundation of Thailand.

Mrs Rosalin Kowae, National Director of World Vision Foundation of Thailand, spoke about the organisation’s commitment:
“The success over the past 27 years in Tham Wiang Kae is not solely the achievement of World Vision Foundation of Thailand, but the result of collaboration among the community, government, and partner networks. We remain committed to continuing our ministry to uplift the quality of life for children, families, and communities — to live with dignity, stability, and sustainable self-reliance.”

Although this event marks the conclusion of Tham Wiang Kae Project, it also opens a new chapter in community development. Beyond celebrating success, the event serves as a platform for sharing knowledge that can be applied and expanded in other areas.

World Vision Foundation of Thailand remains committed to its ministry of improving the quality of life for children, families, and communities—empowering them to live with dignity, stability, and sustainable well-being.
